Lori Schneider
Lori Schneider has spent her life creating—first through music, and now through both sound and form. With a background as a professional musician and conductor, Lori understands the emotional language of art. Today, she translates that same sense of expression into handcrafted work—designing pieces that feel personal, intentional, and deeply human. Through The Crafting Musician, she creates gifts inspired by music and the creative life. Through Green Mountain Artist Collective, she works to build community and create opportunities for artists to share their work with the world. For Lori, art isn’t just something you make—it’s something you live, share, and pass on.

Kathy OConner
Starting with traditional art instruction at the American Academy of Art, Chicago, I developed a passion for creating expressive works. The Academy promoted a very disciplined, conservative art practice, which gave me a strong basis in drawing, composition and color theory. In 2021, I had the very clear realization that it was now or never to become the artist I was always meant to be and I began devoting myself full time to my art. My current practice includes abstract works in acrylic and mixed media. My life experience provides a wealth of inspiration to express the emotions of living a full life. Love and loss, grief, anxiety, and joy—- for myself and others. My mission now: to capture those emotions of everyday life while creating a community of support and connection for those with basic needs. I find great joy in collaborating with non-profits to fundraise through art sales.

Art, for me, begins with attention — the quiet act of noticing the small, everyday forms that often go unseen. A jar of paintbrushes, the angle of light through glass, the silhouette of a bird in flight… these simple objects hold a poetry that I feel compelled to translate onto paper. My work is rooted in observation, stillness, and the belief that ordinary things are worthy of reverence. While my subjects may seem quiet, they are never static. Birds in motion, tools arranged in a well-loved studio, or the rhythmic patterns of nature all carry a sense of energy — the hum of creativity and the movement of life. My goal is to invite the viewer into that moment, to feel both the steadiness and the pulse inside each piece. Every drawing I create is done entirely by hand. I value the slowness of the process — the layering, the shaping, the imperfections that give a piece its human character. In a world increasingly filled with digital shortcuts, I remain committed to the tactile, intentional work of traditional drawing. My art is an invitation to pause, look closely, and see the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Brittany Josie is an author and artist known for her book Weatherveins: poems for every season, which connects nature and emotion. She also uses her creative talents in art therapy, offering workshops and coaching to help others overcome creative blocks and find introspection.
